Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional IC Design Engineer to join our Buffer Chip Design team in Agoura Hills, California. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer. As a Design Engineer, the candidate will be reporting to the Technical Director, Engineering and is a Full-Time position.
Responsibilities
- Design of high-speed Circuits in Analog/Digital/Mixed Signal domains
- Planning: Work with the senior designers in terms of project managing, design block specification, simulation, documentation
- Implementation: Design blocks as per specification, work with the layout team to get the extracted views for final checks. Work with digital team in terms of any calibration requirements etc.
- Verification: Block level simulation using schematics/extracted views, debugging block and top-level simulations, prepare technical reviews and product/block documentation
- Flow and methodology: work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary R&D group that influences and guides Rambus’ technical direction by understanding and contributing to flow and methodology development
- Interact with technical leaders of the company and senior staff in engineering, marketing, and corporate development to help ensure successful development of high value technologies and products
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 1+ years of relevant IC design experience or equivalent project work
- Knowledge of CMOS analog design to build amplifiers, Receivers, PLL, phase interpolators etc. Understand the layout requirements for the above blocks
- Or Knowledge of Digital State Machines, Synthesis, Timing closure
- Experience with standard ASIC software tools (Spectre, HSPICE, layout extraction etc.)
- Or Experience with standard ASIC software tools (Verilog, VHDL, Spyglass, Primetime etc.)
- Strong knowledge of scripting, Linux/Unix environment, to help in post processing simulation results
- Thorough understanding of ASIC design flow
- Self-starter and fast learner with excellent interpersonal skills
- Additional knowledge of Analog blocks for behavior modelling and DDR protocols, experience with memory controller, PCIe digital controller, and/or embedded MCU subsystem designs is a plus
