To strengthen our Silicon IP team, Rambus is seeking for a dynamic, highly motivated,experienced Lead Member of Technical Staff FPGA Engineer, having an in-depth knowledge ofFPGA design and its development tools.
Support architects designing new, best in class Security IPs and implement them forFPGA• Work with Digital designers and firmware engineers to design new FPGA-basedsolutions• Optimize existing Security IPs for FPGA target platforms, especially for frequency,utilization, and power• Evaluate new FPGA platforms and related hardware• Establish design for FPGA methodology and best practices• Manage, implement, and maintain all aspects of a wide range of FPGA applications• Assist with bring-up and debug of hardware projects
BS or MS degree in electrical or computer engineering or closely related degree stronglypreferred; but substantial, relevant, outstanding work experience may substitute insome cases• Eight or more years of experience working as an FPGA engineer or related field• Advanced understanding and experience of arithmetic architectures, especially:o Implementing and adapting arithmetic architectures for FPGAo Utilizing DSP resources to accelerate arithmetic architectureso Selecting optimal IO and partition strategies for arithmetic architectures• Understanding of and experience with leading FPGAs (especially Xilinx) and supportingplatforms including:o Standard FPGA compile and debug tools (especially Vivado)o Hard and soft IP blocks of various FPGAs
Experience with creating and maintaining FPGA build environments and flows• Practical knowledge of SoC architectures• Comfortable in a Unix development environment (make, scripting, SVN, etc.)• Familiarity with debug techniques both inside FPGA logic as well as at the board level• Strong written and verbal communication skills: Ability to explain complex concepts infront of technical audienceBeneficial Experience• Good understanding of device drivers, especially working with software engineers fordevelopment and debug• Experience with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzer• Familiarity with IP integration, IP core delivery, and handoff issues• Field application engineering experience• Data, software, and/or network security; cryptography• Ability to work with technical writers in the production of technical documentation
