Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Principal Layout Engineer to join our Bufferchip Design team in San Jose, California. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer. 

 

As a Principal Layout Engineer, successful applicant will have key role in product implementation across Rambus sites. This is a Full-Time position. 

  

Location: San Jose, CA (Headquarters) 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Ownership of chip level layout 
  • Define optimal top-level floorplan, block partition and power grid in co-ordination with circuit/logic design team 
  • Create layout schedule, delegate work and track progress 
  • Ensure layouts follow good design practices for analog and high-speed custom designs 
  • Deliver layouts that meet extracted performance, power, EMIR and ESD requirements 
  • Verify layout using LVS, DRC, ERC tools 
  • Conduct layout reviews to document and show that the requirements are met, and any necessary waiver are approved 
  • Mentor junior layout engineers  

Qualifications

Requirements/Qualifications: 

  • BS EE and 8+ years or MS and 6+ years’ experience in CMOS design layout 
  • Good knowledge of principles and creativity needed for optimal solutions 
  • Prior experience in Transmitter, Receiver, PLL, DLL, PI, clock distribution is highly desirable 
  • Prior experience in FinFET process is highly desirable 
  • Prior experience with tools like cadence-virtuoso 
  • Knowledge of Tapeout, Mask and eJobview is desirable  
  • Familiarity with TSMC PDK, foundry is desirable 
  • The position requires good written & verbal communication skills as well a strong commitment and ability to work in cross functional and globally dispersed teams
