Security Engineering Intern
Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire a talented, exceptional Security Engineering Intern to join our Rambus Security Division (RSD) in Rotterdam. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer. This engineer will participate in the verification of HW security IP cores developed by RSD, working with cross functional teams including ASIC design engineers and architects, other verification engineers and system test engineers, security experts, and cryptographers. Cryptography and hardware security experience is not required, but an ability to, and interest in, learning about these areas is important.
As a Security Engineering Intern, the candidate will be reporting to Director ASIC Development and is a Full Time position.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure cryptographic hardware IP blocks as part of cryptography research’s security IP portfolio
- Collaborate with other Security engineers to Implement fault and side-channel analysis countermeasures and verify resistance to state-of-the-art attack techniques
- Assist with bring-up and debug of hardware projects
Qualifications
- MS or PhD degree in electrical or computer engineering or closely related degree strongly preferred; but substantial, relevant, outstanding work experience may substitute in some cases.
- Experience with Design and implementation of efficient cryptographic algorithms that implement side-channel analysis countermeasures
- Well versed in FPGA or ASIC design flows, hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL),
- Must have good communication skills.
- Self-motivated, independent worker with strong leadership skills
- Comfortable in a Unix development environment (make, scripting, SVN, etc.)
Beneficial Experience
- Detailed knowledge in secure logic styles and masking techniques (threshold implementations, multi-party computation, etc.)
- Experience in creating FPGA bitfiles for FPGA emulation/acceleration purposes
- Familiarity with IP integration, IP core delivery, and handoff issues
- Data, software, and/or network security; cryptography
