Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional VP Product Marketing & Operations to join our Interface IP team in San Jose, California. Candidates will
be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

 

As a VP of Product Marketing & Operations, the candidate will be reporting to General Manager of the Interface IP Business Unit and is a Full-Time position. This individual will drive the new product development activities to enhance and expand our product portfolio and market share. The VP Product Marketing and Operations must have a great understanding of the challenges in IP development and customer support and be able to synthesize information, formulate insights, and innovate to conceive great product opportunities. Working closely with the rest of the marketing team, PMO, engineering team, customers, Rambus Labs, and sales, the individual will summarize an array of opportunities, drive the decision-making process on a regular basis, and be the product owner for opportunities chosen. These opportunities are expected to add significant revenue to our business over the next 5 years. The role requires an individual with strong technical, analytical, leadership, customer relationship, business, process, operations management and partnering skills. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture execution vision; and the drive, influencing skills and ability to collaborate to transform that vision into a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plan and annual operating plan in conjunction with BU leadership
  • Direct marketing team members and actively participate in managing IP products from concept to production, owning product definition, the go-to-market strategy and delivering on revenue and margin commitments.
  • Direct program management team (PMO) members to activeily monitor and direct program engineering schedules, risk management, ECO oversite and delivery to schedule.
  • Deliver business results consistent with annual operating plan
  • Identify new product opportunities in the next 2-5 years that will drive future revenue growth and be synergistic with our existing product portfolio
  • Define marketing requirements (in MRD) for new areas we wish to enter
  • Define products that meet these market requirements, solicit feedback from customers to refine, fully document requirements in PRD, and launch into NPI process
  • Develop pricing strategy and approve price requests
  • Oversee forecast process to ensure accuracy and availability of supply
  • Engage with industry ecosystem and applicable standard bodies so customers are positioned to adopt solutions, which bring them value
  • Jointly with Engineering, lead the definition of next-generation product and technologies roadmap
  • Visit direct and indirect customers and forge collaborations and partnerships
  • Work hand-in-hand with sales to manage US and worldwide datacenter accounts, whether they be direct or indirect

Qualifications

  • At least 20 years of experience in high-performance IC product definition and development, IP development and product roadmap definition and management.
  • At least 10 years of experience in running a product management team and successfully bringing products to the marketplace
  • Semiconductor product experience in large and/or small start-up companies required and track record of delivering to business commitments.
  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
  • Must have a strong background in semiconductor product definition, operations and people management.
  • Hands-on experience in soliciting customer needs and synthesizing feedback, understanding market requirements and capturing in Marketing Requirements Documents, defining products meeting the market needs and defining the specific product requirements in PRD, working seamlessly with the engineering organization, taking the product to market and capturing significant market share.
  • Experience operating effectively in the product management role in cross-site, crossfunctional, and multinational teams.
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication/presentation skills with strong ability to influence people at all levels and in various functions.
  • Strong awareness of technology trends and their potential influence on Rambus’ business.
  • Strong teaming skills and experience to bring together diverse views.
  • Strong negotiation skills
